They're just behind halfway as it stands with a set of six to play with and Williams gets back onto it and it takes three Cas players to bring him down.

Castleford have what looks like a tremendous turn and ground from Liam Watts but there's a stunning try-saver from Danny Addy and Tui Lolohea.
In the end, it's Addy's foot which stops Watts from grounding the ball successfully. Stunning last-ditch stuff.

Harvey Livett concedes a penalty just past halfway with a rash high tackle. A rare error in this match.

Salford were under the pump for the first few minutes of the game but kept complete calmness in their game.
They didn't try to push the pass and they were happy to bang away in the middle of the park and draw energy out of the Castleford forward pack.

Great stuff from Salford as Kevin Brown sends a high kick in towards goal and it takes a wicked bounce which has Castleford fooled.
As it goes to ground, Harvey Livett dives onto it and grounds it but referee Ben Thaler takes it upstairs and, after numerous replays and angles, it's given.
Livett adds the two.

A good ball game here, with both sides putting some decent kicking in up and down the field, putting to shame the earlier Hull FC v Wigan tie.
Almost a quarter of an hour gone and it's shaping up to be a competitive tie with two teams going at each other in these early stages.
